Who runs it
Tiny Desk AI is run independently and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NPR, NPR Music, Tiny Desk Concerts, Charlie Wilson, The Gap Band, their labels or publishers, TikTok or CapCut. How the Tiny Desk AI video generator works
Upload one clear photo of one consenting adult, choose 480p or 720p and select vertical 9:16 or widescreen 16:9. An automated face and content-safety check runs first. Then ByteDance's Seedance model, accessed through APIMart, uses the photo and one reference clip to render a new 15-second video with sound. The result appears under My videos in your account.
The samples on the homepage
The homepage videos are sample renders, not claims about a guaranteed result. They were made from AI-generated portraits, so no real person's likeness is used. Every new render differs a little and can contain AI artifacts or odd motion.
Who it is for and how we publish
Tiny Desk AI is for adults making a clearly labeled parody from their own photo or a photo of another adult who agreed. It is not for impersonation or fake endorsements.
Guides are written and checked by the Tiny Desk AI team. Sources appear at the end of each guide. If you find a mistake, email support@aitinydesk.pro; we correct it and update the guide's date.
How we moderate
- Use your own photo or one of an adult who gave permission. Uploading a photo without consent is not allowed.
- Adults only. Photos of minors are not accepted.
- No celebrities, athletes, coaches or other public figures, and no sexual, violent, hateful or misleading content.
- Every photo receives an automated face and content-safety check. Extra directions are screened, and the model reviews the video before delivery.
- Anyone can report misuse, and a person reviews every report.
